Sirui 3T-35K Review: Compact Tabletop Tripod

Sirui 3T-35K table top

The Sirui 3T-35K is a compact tabletop tripod that works best with lightweight camera setups, phones, vlogging rigs, and low-angle photography. It weighs about 430 g (15.2 oz), folds to roughly 24.1 cm (9.5 in), reaches about 34.1 cm (13.4 in), and has a stated load capacity of 4 kg (8.8 lb). In practice, balance and lens length matter just as much as the headline load rating.

My verdict: its strongest points are portability, solid aluminum construction, the removable center column, and the included Arca-type ball head. Its main limitation is stability with long or front-heavy lenses. For a small camera, compact lens, webcam, phone adapter, or travel video setup, it is a useful little support.

Sirui 3T-35K review: who is it for?

The 3T-35K sits between a conventional mini tripod and a handheld grip. With the legs open, it can support a camera on a table, wall, rock, or other low surface. Fold the legs together and it becomes a short grip for video, selfies, or a camera held away from the body.

This format makes the most sense for photographers and creators who value a small packed size more than full standing height. It is useful for tabletop photography, low-angle compositions, travel, video calls, and static shots where carrying a full-size tripod would be unnecessary.

Construction and portability

The aluminum body feels more substantial than a basic plastic mini tripod. Its folding feet have rubber contact surfaces, which improve grip and help protect delicate tables. A carabiner is included for attaching the folded tripod to a bag or strap, although I prefer carrying small camera supports inside a bag where the head and quick-release plate are better protected.

At about 430 g, it is light enough to carry regularly without taking much space. The legs fold around the center section, and the removable column gives you a choice between the maximum working height and a much lower, more stable position.

Height, stability, and real-world limits

The tripod reaches approximately 34.1 cm (13.4 in) with the center sections extended. With the column removed and the head mounted closer to the legs, the working height drops to about 11.4 cm (4.5 in). The low configuration is the better option when maximum stability matters.

Sirui lists a load capacity of 4 kg (8.8 lb), but that number should not be treated as a promise that every 4 kg setup will be equally stable. A compact camera with a short lens places its center of gravity close to the head. A long telephoto lens can create much more leverage even when the total weight is below the stated limit.

For that reason, I would use the 3T-35K with mirrorless cameras, small DSLRs with compact lenses, action cameras, phones with a suitable adapter, and lightweight accessories. With a long or front-heavy lens, keep the column low, spread the legs securely, and check the balance before letting go of the camera.

Ball head and camera positioning

The included Arca-type ball head and quick-release plate make it easy to mount and remove a compatible camera. The head can tilt through a side notch for portrait orientation, while the ball joint allows quick framing adjustments.

The compact head is convenient, but it does not offer the fine control of a larger dedicated tripod head. It uses a simple control arrangement, so careful tightening is importantโ€”especially when the camera is tilted or the load is not centered. Panoramic work is possible, but this is not the tool I would choose for highly precise multi-frame panoramas.

Useful ways to use the Sirui 3T-35K

  • Tabletop photography: product photos, food, crafts, and small still-life scenes.
  • Low-angle photography: flowers, pets, details, and ground-level perspectives.
  • Travel: a compact support for situations where a full-size tripod would stay at home.
  • Vlogging and video: the folded legs create a short handheld grip.
  • Long exposures on a stable surface: useful when the camera and lens are kept within sensible limits.
  • Webcams and remote shooting: a small footprint for desks and restricted spaces.

Final verdict

The Sirui 3T-35K is a well-built mini tripod for photographers who understand its size-related limits. Used with a compact setup, however, it is portable, flexible, and quick to deploy.

  1. Looks like a great tripod for a small to medium sized camera. I like the table tops as they are easy to carry and set up when you are on the road. I like to travel light so this would be a great option for my bag. Does it come with a level to make sure that your shot is square.

  2. Marian,

I just love your domain name, it suits perfectly:)

Sirui seems to be a very versatile tripod, having so many features in one. What I like about it is its feature of adjustable height which ranges between 13.4″ to 4.5″ minimum.
You mentioned that it is not capable of holding large lenses, can you pl tell up to what kg, it can handle the weight?

    Regards.

    1. Hi,
Thanks for your interest, this is really a good deal for a tabletop. It can support cameras up to a weight of 4kg, but I would recommend no more than 3 kg with lens. This is for the safety of your equipment for outdoor shooting. Indoor – studio can handle the 4 kg
