Design and handling
The HERO9 Black is slightly larger than earlier GoPros, and that extra size allows for a bigger 2.27-inch rear touchscreen and a 1.4-inch front colour display. The front screen makes a real difference for vlogging and framing yourself; the larger rear screen is easier to use than on older models.
The camera can become warm during demanding recording modes, and touch controls can feel less responsive when the body is hot or wet. Its physical buttons remain important for starting and stopping recording when the touchscreen is inconvenient.
