Snaptain SP650 1080p is currently the 3rd most updated drone in the SP series, famous for its reasonable price.
1080p camera, smartphone control, voice control, are some features that are also part of its predecessor, but the amount of flying and control modes is crazy.

Features of Snaptain Sp650 1080p Drone:
Design and built
Anyone not aware of this drone can never guess its price at first glance. In the previous generation of the SP series, the drone’s appearance was never the strongest point.

In Snaptain SP650, the elegant outlook is a plus point. Made with ABS plastic, the overall drone gives a smooth look.
The drone’s physical dimensions are 10.6 x 10.6 x 4.40 inches, whereas the weight is only 125 grams.
This much low weight is another pro, as the owners with drones weighing less than 250g are not obliged to register them.
As per aviation law in many countries, users cannot fly their drones without registration if weigh above 0.25 kg.
Another update in the drone is the inclusion of brushed motors making flights smoother.
These motors are equipped in the motor arms. 4 wings of the quadcopter sit on each corner of the body. 1080p camera is fixed just beneath the body. Camera angles are adjustable as per requirement.
The LED lights are also attached below each arm making low-light shooting better.
One elegant feature on the body is tan stripes on the propellers.
Camera performance
The camera performance of Snaptain’s drones is always exceptional as compared to its competitors.
The same is the case with SP650. The field of view of the camera is manually adjustable from 90 degrees to 120 degrees.
Maximum framerate per second for full 1080p resolution is 25fps.Â
Like predecessors, Snaptain SP650 live stream video, but again it is limited to 720p. Overall, the videos and image quality is excellent.
The only issue in flying performance is the weight of drones but the camera; because of lightweight, even a slightly strong wind blow can shake the drone and ruin the footage.
Flying performance
Snaptain SP650 can fly up to 80 meters with the 12 minutes of flying time. Flight can be controlled with a remote controller or smartphone.

The drone’s speed can be customized, and ease of use and flying brilliance is delivered via multiple flight modes.
For the price of the drone, it is the above-average performance one can get. But generally, few issues are faced by the users of Snaptain Sp650.
Firstly, flying timings of 12 minutes are only in ideal conditions. Otherwise, it is limited to somewhere between 8 to 10 minutes. Secondly, flying performance and distance between the controller and drone are inversely proportional.
As distance increase, i.e., during flight, performance drops drastically. It is the issue of signal strength, but it drops the customer’s experience in general.
Without voice control, gesture control, and numerous flying modes, the drone’s performance would be nothing.
Voice and Gesture control
Gesture control is a feature found in few other models of Snaptain, but Voice control is a new feature in Snaptain’s gadgets introduced via Sp650.
As the name shows, you can verbally command your drone with voice control, and it will follow.
Though it is not very advanced, ‘start,’ ‘land,’ ‘take-off,’ and ‘stop’ are a few functions that can be performed using the respective words.
With gesture control, motions of hands will do all for you. Make the dedicated gesture for the feature, and the drone will perform it instantly.
For example, by making a victory sign “V,” Sp650 will capture an image. (All gesture details are mentioned in the user’s manual)

Modes:
Here are some of the modes of Snaptain’s SP650
Circle fly
Pressing the circle fly button on the controller will make the drone start flying anticlockwise with 1M of diameter.
360-degree flip
Press a 3D button on the controller to flip the drone in 360 degrees for a full panoramic Arial shot. With this, Sp650 can fly up to a height of 2 meters.
Automatic trajectory flight
Draw a path using the 5 ratio interference options, and the drone will follow that flight automatically.
To use this feature, you will need to download the Snaptain Nova app first. The path can be drawn via this app only.
Snaptain SP650 gravity control
Using this mode, your drone will act like that your smartphone is its center of gravity. Wherever you will go, Snaptain SP650 will fly right behind you.
This feature is a kind of replacement for the ‘Follow Me’ feature found in previous generations.
Some other worth mentioning modes are:
- High-speed rotation
- Altitude hold
- One key takeoff/land
- Headless mode
- One key return
Battery
Honestly, battery timings disappointed us.
Though two lithium polymer batteries are sent with the package, still a maximum flying time of 12 minutes by each battery is not good enough.
