If you want to be noted in the world of photography, you must know and use a good camera and complete it with a proper flash.
That allows you to provide the desired light to the scene, theme, or place in what you will work on. The flash will help you stand out from the images and provide all the special effects on the picture.
One of the most popular brands providing flash devices for cameras is NEEWER due to its good relationship based on quality and price.
For that reason, if you are looking for a flash with good quality and a reasonable price, the model NW565EX is an excellent choice.<- Affiliate link 🙂
Neewer NW565EX professional flash review
This flash is the new trend because it offers a high guide number of 58 for ISO 100 to 180 mm. This value positioned it as one of the most influential brands that you can find in the market.
Another relevant characteristic is that you have a faster recovery time, about 3 seconds, according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
This flash model provides you a great intensity of the image and adds a good head. This device provides a bouncing flash; in other words, it can reach a rotation up to 90 degrees in a vertical angle and 180 degrees in a horizontal.
It is also worth highlighting that this head offers you a motorized zoom of 18 to 180 mm, so you can adjust the light according to the focal length you are shooting.
This is a great advantage to capture the picture desired.
The working principle of the NW565EX is wireless.
The operation of the NW565EX is wireless as a slave. It ranges from 20-30 meters indoors, down to 10-15 meters if you use it outdoors.
As it is installed as a slave, it can work on S1 and S2. This last working mode can be used with a TTL configuration since you will not jump with the pre-flash but with the actual shot.

Here’s a review by Tony’s Hobbies on YouTube to help you better understand this flash:
Neewer NW565EX professional flash
This flash has TTL, manual and multi modes. In manual mode, you can modify the power from 1/1 to 1/128, with fine arrangements in thirds parts that provide 22 levels as the final effect.
For TTL mode, you can adjust the intensity of automatic measurement with thirds. Finally, for multi, you have the option of emitting different flashes for the same shot.
In addition to its different working modes, another of its advantages is the powerful guide number that it presents, zoom, and optical slave, accompanied by an economic value accessible to users.
This becomes the perfect accessory for your camera so that you achieve photos with impressive effects that have a high-speed recharge cycle.
Made with a hard body, you can see the screen and the bottoms to set the picture according to your need at the backside.
The front side has the glass for the flash with the sensor on it and a pull-out flashcard, which you can use to create shadows and sunny environments.
The bottom of the flash has a threaded stand that you can use with a telescope stand.
The color of the digital screen is green to use in environments with high brightness and low illumination.
The flash’s weight is 375 grams, so it is easy to move from one place to another. Also, you have a case to protect the flash during travels.
The flash work with four AA batteries size located on one side.
If you are one of those people that love to take pictures wherever they go, this flash will be the perfect complement to your camera to capture the picture as you desire.
With the professional camera and the NW565EX flash, you will become a professional photographer. Many people will call you to capture the best moment that’s worth remembering for life.
The best moment will require the best quality, and you will provide that with this equipment.
There are a lot of advantages to this flash, starting with the price and the quality. You can adapt it to many models of cameras Nikon and Canon.
This means that if you want to obtain a professional photo, you can count on this device.
One of the best things you can have with this flash is recycling time faster than other models. According to the manufacturer, the recycle time takes 3-4 seconds; however, in practice, the recovery time is faster with less power.
You can do up to 8 consecutive flashes than the higher power option (1/1), where you can shoot up to 3 successive flashes. This is a huge advantage.
If you know a photographer, one sure gift they will thank you for is the professional flash Neewer.<- Affiliate Link 🙂
One recommendation that you should always consider is having a backup set of batteries for your flash.
If you cover a big event like a wedding or a high school prom, you should have enough battery to take all the pictures during the event.
Typically, the batteries will have a life of around 10-12 consecutive hours, obviously depending on the battery and the use you have for the flash during the event.
Take many pictures as you wish and capture the best moments of your life like a professional with a set of professional cameras and the best flash available on the market.

Is the Neewer NW565EX compatible with more recent models such as the Nikon D750, D7100 and D500?
It is for sure compatible with D7100. For other cameras try an adaptor like this one – not an affiliate link 🙂
I hope this is helpful for you, but please don’t hesitate to ask if you need further advice. Cheers
Thank you for your reply 🙂
I can’t find that adapter here in Australia (like so many other things in 2020 that are suddenly unavailable). Will other Neewer speedlights like the 670 or 750 work on the nikon d750 or better off going with something like the Yongnuo YN-560 IV you think?
First, sorry for the late answer – I am also a telecom field engineer and today was a very busy day at work.
As the best budget option, I would go with Neewer 750II.
But for better performance – more expensive though – I would choose Nikon SB-700.
For D500 the best performant flash (in my opinion) is Nikon SB-500. As a cheaper alternative – Yongnuo YN968N.
If you give me the camera model you have, I will look for the best performance and cheaper alternative flashes for you.
Thank you for your reply 🙂
I shoot with with the nikon d750 most of the time, I also have a D7100 as a secondary. I may upgrade it to the D500 (or its new version if there is one) next year (for my sporting contracts that hopefully will start back up, so no need for flash). I have the nikon SB-700 already and use it for most of my work requiring a single flash unit such as school formals and the night club work I do. I have been looking at getting 2-3 speedlights to muck around with in a home studio setting (which includes mounting in softboxes). I have a number of pieces of Neewer equipment already that I really like so when I saw the price and reviews of their speed lights I was interested. Otherwise it was probably going to be Yongnuo YN-560 IV and controller/transmitter.
That’s great, SB-700 is something I recommend too 🙂
As you’re looking for slave flashes (setting the flash in slave mode), it might be a good idea to check Godox V1.
Studio lights and reflectors might help a lot – No referral links, I don’t do that when taking with friends 😉
What budget speedlite would you recommend for Nikon D3400? Neewer 750Ii, Nikon SB600, Altura N1001 or something else? Thank you.
I will go for the best performance SB-700, but for a lower price with SB-600.
AS a cheaper, but good alternative – Neewer 750 II or Neewer TT560. Altura and Godox flashers are also cheaper alternatives, with great ratings from users.
Remember that there are adaptors, in case you ever like some other flash that is not fitting your camera 😉
Thank you. Is SB600 better than Neweer 750ii and Altura N-1001? These 3rd parties have higher GN. I have the opportunity to buy of these 3 used at comparable price, not sure which to go for.
I would go with SB600 or Neewer 750 II. Altura zoom starts at 24mm, the other two at 14mm.
SB600 compatibility (the trusted kind of compatibility, as it is Nikon) with all models is a big plus.
On the other side, 750II got a bigger zoom range.
Now, it is an economical thing… If these two flashes are similar in price – It is Neewer overpriced, or SB 600 underpriced?
If Neewer is overpriced, then I will definitely go with SB 600. If SB is underpriced, I will still go with SB.
Keep it, or sell it at the real price, and then buy the Neewer and make some cash for yourself 😉
I hope this makes sense …
Thank you very much for your advice.
You’re most welcome! Please let me know if there is something else I could help with, cheers 🙂
