The quality and features of a high-end tripod in the price of the medium-end one, there is no better description for Geekoto CT25Pro Carbon fiber tripod.

From built material to stability it has to offer, from super-impressive height to offering monopod, Geekoto C25 Pro is everything you might be looking for in your next tripod!

Even if you are just a beginner or a mere photography enthusiast who is not actually clicking footages, you still must know what an important accessory a tripod is!

Geekoto CT25Pro Review

No manual setting or other accessories can stabilize the camera or smartphone like a tripod can.

To overcome shakes and blurs, shooting perfectly in long exposures, for shooting landscapes, to get sharper images while shooting with fast shutter speed, and many other conditions are there in which a tripod comes in handy.

Well, it is a fact that a tripod is important than what about getting a good one? There are high-end tripods that offer brilliant built and super-stability, but those are very expensive.

On the other hand, there is a ginormous number of cheaply available tripods in the market. Still, about them, even the core-function of the tripod, providing stability, is not guaranteed.

That’s where Geekoto tripods come to the rescue. These are moderately priced and sturdy, with good-quality built, well-extended heights, and offer great stability.

Specifications and customer reviews about Geekoto CT25 Pro is the prime example.

Here are the details about the features and performance of the CT 25 Pro tripod.

Salient features of Geekoto CT25Pro Tripod:

As this is a medium-priced tripod, some people might think that why go for CT25 when there are less pricey tripods available?

The answer is durability, light-weightiness, extended length this tripod has to offer besides all other features.

Carbon Fiber Built

The highlight of the features of this camera is its carbon fiber built. The 8-layer built (usually the carbon-fiber tripods have only two or three-layer built) makes the tripod more resistant against dents and shocks.

The pure-carbon fiber makes this accessory more rigid, heat/shock resistant, and maximizes its durability. No doubt there are cheaper tripods available, but those usually have metal built.

Metal tripods are comparatively heavier, and they can be dented and, in extreme cases, deformed easily.

CT25 is black in color with a touch of metallic orange.

Load Capacity and Weight

Geekoto CT25 Pro carbon fiber tripod only weighs around 3.4 pounds or 1.54 kg. It falls in the low-weighing tripods but has more than 8x of weight capacity than its own weight; CT25’s load capacity is 26.5 lb. / 12.02 kg.

If you own a heavier DSLR, a heavier lens, and especially a telelens under 12kg, CT25 is highly recommended.

Unlike metal built, carbon fiber is not only more rigid but also lighter. Being lightweight, it is much easier to carry around this tripod, especially for outdoor shootings.

For further convenience in carrying it around, it comes with a bag with a shoulder strap. The strap is not that big, but you can replace it with your own strap.

Maximum and Minimum Height

Geekoto CT25 Carbon fiber tripod can easily be extended from 19 inches (48.3 cm) to the maximum height of 79 inches (200.7 cm).

Without the center column extended, it’s 56.3 inches. With two center columns extended, CT25 pro is 77 inches. The Central column comes with the rapid type extension.

Geekoto CT25Pro carbon fiber tripod heights

The size of 19 inches upon closing is pretty compact, making it the perfect companion for low-angle photography and outdoor photography.

On the other hand, a maximum height of 79’’ makes sure that you get the best results for your landscape photography.

Height range of 19 inches to 79 inches provides a nifty range of selecting a height as per your ease of use and requirement of the shoot.

This single tripod is enough for multi-scene photography, i.e., indoors studio shooting, outdoors adventures, night photography, landscape photography.

Legs

CT25 has 4 legs with independent legs spread. The legs are also made up of carbon fiber with rubber feet. Legs can be folded back to the full 180 degrees, making it easy to store and carry around.

The legs can be positioned at 3 alternative angles (20°, 50°, and 80°) in a matter of seconds to allow you to have as much creativity in footages as you want by exploring different angles.

Geekoto CT25Pro leg angles

These alternative angles are also helpful when shooting in uneven terrain or some narrow areas. To secure the tripod’s position in between 24.4″ to 79″, Geekoto CT25Pro has an advanced twist lock beside the side of the legs.

This lock can be adjusted easily one-handedly and hold the legs very well at their position once properly secured. The lock holds the legs in place, but there is a con associated with it: unlike the other body, parts locks are made up of plastic.

Though it isn’t some cheap plastic yet, there is no durability guaranteed for these locks like the rest of Geekoto’s CT25.

Rubber feet

To ensure stability in all sorts of circumstances, Geekoto CT25Pro’s legs have rubber feet. Rubber has a better grip on surfaces compared to metals and carbon fiber.

These feet are also replaceable and protect the legs’ ends from any damage because of uneven surfaces and different shooting conditions.

Head

Geekoto CT25 Pro has a ball head – as lightweight as the rest of the body. The mounting and unmounting of smartphones and cameras are much easier in this tripod, thanks to the Arca-Swiss type quick release plate.

Arca-plate also makes CT25 compatible with almost all brands of cameras such as with Canon, Sony, Nikon cameras, DSLRs, etc. (basically with any camera with 1/4 inches screw holes ) under 25 pounds with Standard 1/4 “screws and 3/8” spare screws.

Geekoto CT25Pro head

The cameras are attached with a single standing screw. The mounting screws are ¼ inches-20 Male & 3/8 inches-16 with Bushing.

Unlike the body, the Arca-Swiss quick release plate is made up of metal.

Bubble level

At the head’s base level, a bubble level is located right from where the legs coverage. It effectively ensures that the tripod is correctly balanced and in an accurate position.

In panoramic shooting, it accurate the 360° scale for precise image alignment making panoramic photography a lot more easier.

Control knobs

The Head of Geekoto CT25Pro has two independent control knobs to lock the head in your desired position.

Like the legs lock, these knobs are controlled with a twist. These knobs especially facilitate panning and tilting.

Pan and Tilt

Get the full panoramic shots with full 360-degree panoramic panning of the ball head. It is an oil-free damping design that ensures the smooth rotation of the ball head every time.

Besides the 360 degrees panning, it also offers 90 degrees of vertical tilt.

Monopod

The versatile Geekoto’s CT25 Pro can be used as a monopod and used as a trekking pole. Just remove the detachable leg and attach the tripod to the removable center column.

Geekoto CT25Pro carbon fiber monopod

The maximum working height of a detachable monopod is 81 inches (205.74 inches approximately). Overall the monopod has 6 sections (four legs sections of the monopod and two sections of the central column).

As a monopod, the Geekoto CT25 Carbon Fiber tripod can also be used upside down for low-angle shooting positions and different shooting heights.

The removable and reversible central column has two sections. It is round in shape with rapid type extension.

    1. Hi and thanks for pointing to this aspect. Even so, when the review was done the lock looks like plastic to me. If I was wrong or not, I can’t say right now 🙂 I will look into it, cheers. But I can argue with you about the built… on this model it is carbon fiber!!! 😛

      1. Hi! Yes, the tripod itself was made of carbon fiber. I meant all the mounts were made of aluminum and aluminum alloys. And one more thing. In the head itself there is a bubble level.
